Research project

Human impact on climate change, resource scarcity and environmental degradation have reached critical and unprecedented levels. This results in one of the central challenges: to reorganize globalized value creation and production systems and to establish sustainable and synergetic production processes.

Building a digital infrastructure for fab cities and regions
Building a digital infrastructure for fab cities and regions

Enabling economic, ecological and social sustainability.

Within this framework, the INTERFACER project is developing a digital solution approach for a data-based circular economy in a global innovation ecosystem. The goal is to design a green, resilient as well as local and demand-driven production. To support the transition to an open source based circular economy on the territory of a city or region, novel models can foster global data and local material flows. You can find a detailed project description in the whitepaper or on INTERFACER’s own project page: Whitepaper PDF
