We were at the Maker Faire Germany in Hannover to get to know the maker scene even better, to discover the latest trends and to network!

Attraktor e.V. and Fabulous St. Pauli were represented at the Maker Faire this year and presented some of their projects.

The Attraktor from Hamburg Altona is a non-profit association with about 100 members that has been a center for hobbyists and tinkerers on computers, electronics and material processing since 2010. The core of the association’s work is the promotion of science, research and education, the operation of the open workshop and the organization of regular meetings, lectures and workshops.

The focus at the booth were electronics. The Attraktor offered a small soldering workshop! Check out the blog post from Attraktor.

Fab City Hamburg member Fabulous St. Pauli presented ongoing projects. An electrochemical compact lab called Elch Kompakt, which can be rebuilt with open source hardware. An application example of a redox flow battery. The CleanPCB project, which is all about recycling copper when etching circuit boards. The Perfect Living Hinge, the mathematical modeling of bendable plywood and photorealistic renderings with POV-Ray from a new workbench for FreeCAD.
