Team Day with the Hamburg District Offices

What does a circular economy look like in practice?

That’s exactly what the climate protection officers from all of Hamburg’s district offices got to experience during our team-building day at Hamburg’s Oberhafen.

The Oberhafen has long been more than just a creative district—it already demonstrates how local production, reuse, and circular value creation are put into practice in Hamburg.

Our joint tour took us to many inspiring stops:
At the Curious Community Lab, Fab Lab Fabulous St. Pauli e.V., and XYZ Bike Till Wolfer, we gained exciting insights into digital manufacturing, collaborative work, and local production.

🌿 Afterward, Marita Krampl from ARINET GmbH, as part of the “Grau trifft Grün” initiative, showed us how climate-resilient urban development and greening along the waterfront work together.

The wood workshop as part of our Fab City project “RE:MAKE – The Circular Team Event” then focused on wood as a material stream—from theory to practical implementation. Many thanks to the RE:MAKE team for the fascinating insights and the opportunity to work together.

🥗 After a wonderful lunch at Hobenköök, our final stop took us to the pleasantly cool parking garage of Schrott bewahre’s Material Hub, where the potential of reused materials is impressively on display.

A day full of new perspectives, exciting conversations, hands-on experiences, and above all: lots of good cheer. 😊

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners who opened their doors and shared their knowledge, as well as to the Hamburg district offices for their trust and for deciding to organize this team day together with us.

Together, we bring the circular economy to life—and drive the transformation in the city. ♻️
