Four formats, countless conversations, and a great deal of enthusiasm for the future.
The Hamburg Innovation Summit 2026 is now behind us—and we look back with great joy on a day when Fab City Hamburg e.V. was able to demonstrate at four different stations how local production, the circular economy, and innovation go hand in hand.
On the Local Hero Stage, Christian-Andre Keun from CompriseTec GmbH and Niels Boeing from Fab City e.V. discussed how new materials and local value creation can advance Hamburg on its path to becoming Fabrication City 2054. Conclusion: The circular economy isn’t just a “nice-to-have”—it’s a “must-have.”
In two matchmaking sessions, we brought together companies, skilled trades, startups, and support organizations. After all, transformation can’t happen alone—it requires collaboration, new partnerships, and people who are willing to work together to make it happen.
The biggest highlight for us, however, was the Fab City Box.
While exciting ideas, technologies, and innovations were presented in many areas at the summit, this space served as a special counterpoint to the flood of information: a place to touch, try out, and do things yourself.
Six RE:MAKE sessions brought the circular economy to life. Waste materials were transformed into new products, conversations sparked new ideas, and curiosity led to a genuine understanding of materials. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which visitors of all ages participated, experimented, and discovered the potential of wood, plastic, and textile waste materials.
That’s exactly what we’re all about at Fab City Hamburg: not just explaining the circular economy, but making it something you can experience firsthand.
A heartfelt thank you to all our visitors, conversation partners, speakers, supporters, and, of course, our amazing team, who made this event possible.
THANK YOU, Hamburg Innovation Summit!
We’re taking away many new contacts, exciting points of connection, and the confirmation that interest in a circular, locally produced future is greater than ever.
See you again at the next Hamburg Innovation Summit in 2027!
