On September 3, State Secretary for Culture Jana Schiedek opened the Bücherhallen Hamburg’s second MakerLab at the Bücherhalle Alstertal. And now it can also be found on our Fab City Hamburg Makerspace map —bringing our overview of Hamburg’s maker infrastructure to 17 locations.
What’s there to discover? Plenty of opportunities to bring your own ideas to life: 3D printers, laser cutters, plotters, and sewing and embroidery machines. There are also Open MakerLabs, workshops, and equipment certification courses that enable you to use the machines independently.
The MakerLab Alstertal is therefore not just a place for technology, but above all a space for curiosity, creativity, and collaborative making—and it makes the possibilities of digital production accessible to people of all ages.

For us at Fab City Hamburg, every new open maker space is an important building block for a city where people have access to knowledge, tools, and technologies and can bring their own ideas to life.
